In addition to that he works on next generation developer tooling and innovative new architectures for cloud-based developer tooling. Before joining the Spring family, Martin co-founded it-agile, a leading consulting and development company focused on agile software development.

Spring Tool Suite 3.7.1 released

Dear Spring Community,

I am happy to announce the 3.7.1 release of the Spring Tool Suite, our Eclipse-based tooling.

Highlights from this release include:

  • updated to Eclipse Mars.1 (4.5.1), including a number of fixes for JDT and m2e
  • updated to Pivotal tc Server 3.1.2
  • various improvements to the Spring Boot YML properties editor
  • improvements to the Spring Boot Starter wizard
  • new support for Spring Boot Devtools, including ability to attach Java debugger to CF deployed apps.
  • the new spring boot dashboard, currently in beta, but definitely the highlight of this release

I am happy to announce the new release of our Eclipse-based tooling today: The Spring Tool Suite (STS) 3.6.2 and the Groovy/Grails Tool Suite (GGTS) 3.6.2.

This is a maintenance release that updates STS/GGTS to the just released Eclipse Luna SR1 release. This includes a number of fixes across the various projects that are included in the STS distribution, together with fixes for the Java8 compiler and tooling in Eclipse.

NOTE: Both tool suites ship on top of the latest Eclipse Luna 4.4 release candidates as 64bit based zip files ONLY. We plan to no longer ship installers and 32bit distributions anymore. Update sites will be available for use with older Eclipse versions and 32bit installations.

Spring Tool Suite and Groovy/Grails Tool Suite 3.5.1 released

Dear Spring Community,

we are happy to announce a minor maintenance release of our Eclipse-based tooling today: The Spring Tool Suite (STS) 3.5.1 and the Groovy/Grails Tool Suite (GGTS) 3.5.1.

This maintenance release includes a number of bug fixes as well as a few updates, including:

  • added Java8 support for faceted web projects
  • updated Maven Integration for Eclipse to support Java8
  • m2e-egit connector now included by default
  • Grails updated to 2.3.8
  • the Groovy 2.3 compiler now availabe from the dashboard (including early support for Grails 2.4M2 in GGTS)

Both tool suites ship on top of the latest Eclipse Kepler SR2 release.
